Google Search allows you to generate and share public links to your AI-powered responses. When using features like AI Overviews or AI Mode, you can easily distribute these snapshots to messaging apps, email drafts, or social media platforms. Required Settings for Link Sharing
To successfully generate and manage public links for your AI-generated summaries, you must configure your account with specific settings:
Account Type: You must use a personal Google Account. Google Workspace and Workspace for Education accounts do not currently support this feature.
Age Restrictions: The feature is strictly limited to users who are 18 years of age or older.
Search History: You must enable Web & App Activity within your account. If your history and personalized recommendations are turned off, the share functionality will be completely disabled. How to Share an AI Response
You can distribute AI-generated text directly from your search interface using the following step-by-step procedures: Desktop and Computers
Initiate Search: Open your browser and generate an AI Overview or enter Google AI Mode.
Locate Share Button: Scroll to the very bottom of the AI-generated summary response.
Generate Link: Click the Share icon to create a public link.
Select Platform: Copy the link to your clipboard or select a specific messaging application or social media platform to send it directly. Mobile (Android and iOS)
Open Google App: Launch the standard Google app or navigate to Google Search on your mobile browser.
Access AI Features: Input your search term to trigger an overview, or tap the AI Mode button prominently displayed on your home screen.
Tap Share: Locate the Share option situated at the bottom of the generated AI block.
Send Response: Select your target messaging app, social platform, or email draft to push the link to your peers. Managing Your Public Links
Google provides a central management hub so you can audit or revoke access to the links you have generated. This prevents older information from remaining publicly accessible if your privacy needs change.
Access History: Open the Google app, tap into AI Mode, and select AI Mode history at the top of your browser window.
Open Link Manager: Tap the three-dot More icon and select the Manage public links configuration option.
Execute Actions: Within this dashboard, you can instantly delete specific shared links, re-share active links, or wipe all shared public links from your history entirely.
